Research Information
- Research Overview
The research activity of our group (Nanophysics Lab San Sebastián) is focused on the description of the morphology and the electronic states in nanostructures. These states are quantum well states in thin films and surface states in stepped surfaces and lateral nanostructures. To this aim we use two experimental techniques: Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM) and Angle-resolved Valence-band Photoemission. The STM work is done at the Lab facilities in San Sebastian, by means of a variable temperature STM from OMICRON. The Photoemission experiments are done at different Synchrotron radiation facilities around the world: LURE at Paris, ELETTRA at Trieste and the SRC at Madison (Wisconsin, USA).
