Welcome to the Nano-bio Spectroscopy Group website
Under the leadership of Professor Angel Rubio, the group activities are focused on the field of theory and modelling of electronic and structural properties in condensed matter and on developing novel theoretical tools and computational codes to investigate the electronic response of solids and nanostructures to external electromagnetic fields. Present research activities are: new developments within many-body theory and TDDFT, including ab-initio description of electron excitations, optical spectroscopy, time-resolved spectroscopies, and lifetimes; novel techniques to calculate total energies and assessment and development of XC functionals for TDDFT calculations; improvements on transport theory within the real-time TDDFT formalism; characterization of the electronic and optical properties of solids, nanostructures (in particular nanotubes, nanowires and semiconducting -clusters-) and biomolecules.
The group is active in the development of the ETSF and hosts the Vicepresidency for Scientific Development.
Positions - Join Us!
The Nano bio Spectroscopy Group and the European Theoretical Spectroscopy Facility through the ETSF Scientific Development Centre invites applications for postdoctoral positions and PhD positions.
The group is linked to the Ikerbasque Foundation to host researches on permanent, temporary and sabbatical positions.
The group is also hosting centre for researchers under the HPC-Europa3. The program provides the visitors with funding for travel, accommodation and subsistence, and an amount of computing time suitable for the approved project. Interested researcher can check the HPC-Europa3 guidelines and contact us.
