Open quantum systems

Open quantum systems (i.e. quantum systems in contact with macroscopic environments) not only present a fascinating set of fundamental challenges, but are a topic of enormous practical import, too. Some of our goals:

  • Explore the time evolution of open quantum systems.

  • Apply the theory of open quantum systems to N-body Feshbach resonances.

  • Calculate Seebeck coefficients from the theory of open quantum systems.

  • Explore thermal transport across spin chains.
